Finlaggan is a label from the family-owned independent bottler The Vintage Malt Whisky Company in Glasgow. All Finlaggan releases are sourced exclusively from an unnamed distillery on Islay, and much ink has been spilled quibbling over the origins of this malt. The company refuses to disclose any details. This bottling is at cask strength, clocking in at 58% ABV.

I really wanted to enjoy this. Affordable, caskstrength peated Single Malt from Islay?! Yes please!! Except this was a little tired. Good peat notes, some smoke and honey sweetness. The malt was a bit thin, and with time the peat settled more into ash and less into a smoldering moss or earth.
4.1 피티함 생각보다 엄청 피트가 코를 찌르진 않느다 저숙성 스피릿에서나는 살짝의 비릿함 태운 나무향 달다 Cs 치고 꽤나 정제된 느낌이 좋았다. 장작 느낌이 나는게 내 기준에서는 라가불린이랑 약간 결을 같이 하는게 있는거 같다. 라프로익은 구수한 피트, 보모어는 훈제 소제지 , 아드벡은 훈연베이컨 계열 느낌 스모키스캇cs 버전 같다고 했던 글을 본거 같은데 완전 다른 느낌이다. 약간의 고소한 맛이 마무리한다.
Smoky throughout, but with a lovely honey sweetness. Very little peat compared to most Islays, but a treat at this price. Compares well with Lagavulin 8.
