A dry, Straight Bourbon Whiskey by Master Distiller Kevin Curtis for IJW Whiskey Company in Kentucky made from a blend of 40 different mash bills & aged in charred American oak barrels, then Port Cask Finish before being bottled at 90 proof. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, dried fruit, wood, herbs & spices; while a rich & complex life adds notes of raisin, crème brulee, oak & tobacco; that led to a dry death of medium length with notes of dried oats & barley. Tried neat in the speak easy with @Looneyhead On the nares it smells sweet, fruity, and fall like with notes of vanilla, caramel, cocoa slivers, pears, raisen. On the palate its smooth and sweet but not too sweet, as well as fruity, woth notes of vanilla, maraschino cherries, toasted marshmallow, candy apple, caramel. This bourbon really surprised me… its delicious!
Nose of oak, port barrel, raisin, vanilla, grain. Insanely smooth, sweet, grape, port and oak. Soft grape finish.
I was impressed with this bourbon. I really enjoy the double oak version and this is in the same alley
Good port wine finished bourbon. Similar to Angel’s Envy. Somewhat decent burn after the finish.
Fruity and smoother than regular barrel
