I've only had a couple irish cream liqueurs, but this one is far and away the best. I dont see a reason to have Baileys when this is an alternative. The nose features chocolate and grain. The palate is where this shines. Its silky and creamy, with notes of caramel, butterscotch and spice. The finish is smooth, with no burn and more chocolate notes. I'm guessing there is another irish cream liqueur out there that's better but this has to be near the top. Skip the Baileys and go for this instead, I'm sure you wont regret it.
Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur
About this bottle
Five Farms is produced in County Cork, Ireland using small batches of dairy cream sourced from local farms. It is then blended with Irish whiskey, more than is typically used in an Irish cream. It is bottled in packaging reminiscent of vintage milk bottles at 34 proof.

Velvety and rich, which makes great use of a very fresh and high butterfat cream. Notes of vanilla, butterscotch, cocoa nibs and caramel sweetness. The Irish whiskey and neutral grain spirits contained within are of acceptable quality, which is a rare enough thing for most Irish cream liqueurs. The bottle design is both quaint and utilitarian. In my opinion, this is a product which is far superior to Baileys (which thrives on name recognition as opposed to quality) and at the same price point, itβs a no brainer.
Very good! Heavy on the side of butterscotch and buttery creamy flavors so a little different spin for a cream liqueur. Really enjoyed it in coffee and itβs so creamy and buttery that it even makes your coffee feel silky. Great option for something a little different on a Saturday morning! π
If I have one fear it is never having the next taste of Five Farms. So delicious. So rich. And while not offensive it is nowhere near subtle. A superb Irish Cream that is a pure delight alone, in coffe , of my preference mixed 1:3 with Jameson over crushed ice.
The butterscotchy cream is outstanding. Too good for coffee. That's what McCleary is for. I will admit I will sometimes spike this with a little Dead Rabbit or Tullamore Dew, but that's only because I have a drinking problem.
As a life long lover of Baileys, I must say this is a step up. I'm not the best at describing spirits, but it's like everything good about Baileys but more...
