About this bottle

Gin fans Matt Jones, Stuart "Stu" Gregor, and Cameron "Cam" MacKenzie founded Four Pillars in 2013 as their way to contribute to Australia's craft spirits industry. They named their distillery after their four pillars approach to gin production - "stills, water, botanicals, and love." This Bloody Shiraz gin starts with their Rare Dry Gin combined with Australian Shiraz grapes. Note: As this gin is unfiltered, the brand recommends consuming within two years of vintage listed.

I think i'm running into a first world problem that isn't a problem except for my liver and that's a cornucopia of spirts sampling opportunities every time I look around a corner. Already Benriach 8 flight horizontal (Monday), Thursday 6 flight cross distillery sampling and now after the kids cricket practice finished, picking up my wife to do shopping and hello hello free gin samples. I saw this one and though na looks like sloe I'll avoid but it wasn't and I didn't. Shiraz barrel aging which was awesome I could drink loads straight...red wine and gin...awesome combo...untill the next morning I guess. Try and buy with confidence (I have no idea where I stole that wanky expression from but hey it sounds appropriate). Update: I ended up buying a bottle and mixing with various tonics. The recommendation was with citrus but I preferred a more traditional gin flavouring with minimal citrus flavour. Std East Imperial tonic mixed nicely. I still like it but more a 3.75 to4 I'm thinking with tonic. Method and Madness and Roots go better with tonic I think. Update 2: I think I'm a more traditional gin man as I find myself avoiding this one and reaching for one of the other Gins on my shelf. It doesn't meld as well as other gins with tonic and its no longer one I'd drink straight...novelty wearing off!

Dangerous gin which is too damn easy to drink straight. Great concept and executed very well but I prefer gins with a bit more flexibility and so i wont buy this again as tonic or soda water tends to ruin it imo.

(Straight over ice. 2021 vintage.) Dried fruit mixed with wine-y barrel-wood notes and gingerbread spices, finishing with a gin profile of juniper and herbs; like a booze-soaked fruitcake in the best of ways.

The gin and Shiraz tastes both clearly shine through and create complexity yet compliment each other. The wine adds a deep rich plum flavour to the floral, juniper notes in the gin.

Keran 4.3

A beautiful gin with heavy fruit notes. This wonderful gin is great to sip or mix in a Negroni for a beautifully rich drink

Quite a heavy presence of cherry, raspberry, plum. Has a syrupy note. Can drink neat like a scotch.
