On first crack this was typical MGP spicy toffee dried fruit with a bit of cocoa powder and oak on the back end. After sitting on the shelf for a month or two it opened up into a sweet candied version of itself with a creamy mouthfeel that leads into a warm tingly tongue feel with a long warm finish that largely stays in the mouth and jaw with some of it sliding into a gentle KY hug.

Deep aroma I can't quite place. Deep wood flavor, rich and spreading. The fire of the cask strength is balanced though, not overpowering. It. Lets the flavors shine through and be enjoyed. Excellently done. Impressive.

3yr 58.25% Syrup, glazed citrus peel, and herbal rye nose. Immediate heat. Youthful comes through. Syrup sweetness, oak, and rye grains fill out the palate. Mild dry oak finish, medium length.
