Fuenteseca Huerta Singular 'Las Antenas' Blanco Tequila, Cosecha 2018 is a crisp, Single Estate Agave Spirit by Fuenteseca Distillery in Vista Hermosa, Micohoacán, Jalisco (Los Valles), Mexico. It is made from over-ripe Highland pinto Blue Weber agave & deep well water cooked in an autoclave; fermentation without fibers in stainless steel tanks; double distilled in Copper Pot & rested in stainless steel. It has an aromatic birth with notes of agave, citrus, herbs, spices & earth; while a complex life adds notes of cooked yams, agave, mint & olive; that leads to a balanced death of medium length with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, pepper & sea spray. Aromas of peach cobbler, a little hibiscus, stewed greens. Flavors of licorice, cinnamon, sassafras, cola - basically all the best herbal dessert flavors, slightly briny, with a rich mouthfeel that just coats the mouth, but with no ethanol burn. Get a little black tea and pepper on the finish. Best blanco I've had the pleasure of tasting; it has that 1146 DNA with some similar flavors to the Don Fulano Blanco, but this takes it to a new level.
Floral smell with a a familiar but very mild "OK, this is tequila" smell. Oh my god what a smooth Tequila! Seriously like mild flavored water. This is NOT your typical tequila. This is something very different and (in my limited experience) very special. I'm blown away.
Hint of honey/vanilla but not sweet, balanced, complex, not spicy. Smooth. A lovely, unique expression of tequila. There’s a hint of wood as well. The aftertaste isnt great, a little bitter/wooden.
Brilliant sweet and briney combination with loads of cooked agave, honey, brine, green olives, lavender, mangoes, cinnamon, minerals, salted caramel, papayas, and bubble gum.
