Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey (2019)

On the nose I get vanilla, oak, leather, nuts, and a tiny himt of chocolate and char. First sip offers a full mouthful of black pepper, oak, and char. The burn wasn’t overpowering and had a nutty, leather, and char finish. Ice softens the burn but does not remove it and pulls the nutty and earth tones to the front. This is a really good bourbon and i highly recommend it.

From the bottle description: ‘Homegrown and handmade small batch bourbon whiskey made with the finest Texas corn and Hill country rainwater. Aged in slow growth northern American oak harvested from sustainable forests. Cooked, distilled, barreled and bottled in high Texas.’

Loved the sweetness with the spice back notes in this. Nose was light. Better balance than the Balmorhea and less burn

Smooth, good flavor, small bite.
