A bold, Bourbon Whiskey by Gulf Coast Distillers guided by David Pickerell in Houston, Texas; with a mash bill consisting of 75% corn, 21% rye & 4% malted barley; distilled in pot stills & aged in #4 char American oak barrels. It has an aromatic birth of cooked fruits, nuts, wood & spice; while a bold life adds notes of peach, apricot, vanilla, caramel, rye, cinnamon & allspice; that led to a long & woody death with notes of oak & almonds. This is a unique bourbon for sure. It’s a bit grainy on the nose and the front palate. The corn sweetness definitely shines through on the back palate, coupled with vanilla as well. A very enjoyable dram.
Solid whiskey, good flavor that goes down smooth. Fruity and dry.
Just not good. Can’t place nose or flavor but I just don’t like it.
