According to company history, Ginebra San Miguel Gin was first produced in 1834 by the Destileria y Licoreria de Ayala y Compañia, the oldest distillery in the Philippines. It's distilled from sugarcane and flavored with "select imported essences." An obscure brand outside of its home turf, where the parent company owns both the best selling beer and the most popular basketball team with the same name, this is actually the top selling gin in the world, boasting sales of 20.4 million cases during 2015.
