GlenAllachie 12 Year Pedro Ximenez Sherry Wood Finish

Nose - Sweet candied ginger/raisin spicy sweet, dark apple juice Taste - Sweet candied ginger tingle/heat, caramel apples, raisins, golden raisins Finish - Lingering tingle/heat, apple juice sweet, light golden raisins Score - 83/100 Final Thoughts - So if I didn't know this was a PX finished Scotch, I wouldn't have thought of that at all. I don't get the dark raisins/syrupy dark stone fruit notes at all in this from the nose to palate to anything. This tastes like a generic sherry finished blended Scotch to me. Nothing off-putting, but nothing that makes it stand out either. Pleasant to drink, but that's about it. You seem to forget about it seconds after you drink it. Easily sippable, but nothing to remember later. Would I drink it if offered? - Yes Would I specifically order it? - No Would I buy a bottle? - No

I think this is my first Glenallachie post Billy Walker period. The period also known as “ when Glenallachie was changed to GlenAllachie, in Flintstone era style font”. This comes courtesy of my good buddy @LeeEvolved . There’s good balance here, with aromas of sweet baked breads and fruit. The PX finishing helps. Taste is more of the same, but some oak coming out. Overall, a fine balanced whisky, and affordable enough to run alongside Balvenie 12, some young GlenDronach, and other Speysiders. I think this is more expensive than Glendronach and Balvenie, so I’d go with those at the similar age statement. But if it’s the same price range, Glendronach over this, and this over Balvenie 12. 글렌알라키12년 PX쉐리 피니쉬 Glenallachie 12y PX Sherry Cask Finish 48% 10년 아메리칸 오크 ->2년 PX 쉐리 캐스크 피니쉬 향 : 초록색 귤처럼 껍질에서 쌉쌀하고 뭔가 꽉 막힌 느낌입니다. 48%인데도 안풀린 고도수처럼 닫혀있어 기다리지 않고 물 1~2방울을 떨어뜨리니, 달지 않은 쉐리와인이 베인 스모키 오크향이 있으나 풍미가 피어나지는 않습니다. 바닐라스러움은 미끄덩하고 기름진 느낌으로 있습니다. 입으로 들이마시는 향은 2%초콜릿과 98%의 고무 및 생나무의 쌉쌀함입니다. 맛 : 카카오72~80% 정도의 두텁고 덜 단 초콜릿입니다. 스모키, 굽다가 조금 탄 식빵, 익힌 초록야채, 향신료, 애매하게 쌉쌀시큼해서 쉬었나 확인이 필요한 김칫국?(맙소사...)이 느껴집니다. 피니쉬 : 알코올이 정리되지 않은 면이 있으나, 시콤한 건포도, 토피, 향신료가 있기는 함. 한줄평 : *글렌알라키10년CS에 비교한다면 경기도 오산에 다녀와야 할 정도로 아쉬움 *이럴거면 차라리 PX쉐리 피니쉬라고 하지 말았어야지~(feat.백아연)

Nose. Rich dried fruits; sultanas, raisins, Christmas cake and Sherry. (If you let it breathe a little you also start to get banana.) Palate. More of the fruit along with a big hit of ripe banana. Finish. Rich and warming, but not particularly long. The banana hangs around and there’s some floral honey which is then replaced by a hint of citrus.

Intense berries and plums on the nose. Berries continue on the palate with some bbq smoke and rum funk. Opens and relaxes with water, so don't be shy as it holds up well. Not much of a finish. Watch for this Billy Walker gem in the future.

Hige sherry influence. Nose is sweet red wine, short bread, and cinnamon grahm crackers. Full body. Lots of raisin, citrus, honey, heather, and black pepper tastes. Finish is heavy chocolate and fruit. Big fan of this spirit.
