About this bottle

The corn used for this whiskey is sourced from just a couple of miles from the distillery located in Western Massachusetts. Nose: Earthy corn and sweet tobacco come forward first. Notes of unsweetened dried cherries and dry grass are just underneath with a hint of wood smoke rounding it out. Palate: Almost identical to the nose, but a bit more balanced. A more medicinal cherry mingles nicely with the corn and tobacco. Again, a puff of smoke is a nice touch. Finish: Warming with medium length. Medicinal cherry and wood smoke fade away for a satisfying end. Summary: Well balanced and enjoyable to sip on. Worth picking up if looking for a good corn whiskey.

I mean, it's corn....and you taste the corn. Not sure if they use native New England corn, but as a New Englander I can attest to not being known for corn. That regional showcase of terrible corn is omnipresent. There's an underlying wood from start to finish. Initial hit is of dark cherry and car leather. It's earthy and old leaves. It's charred while also sweet but doesn't have much depth between.

Amber-gold appearance, with sharp alcohol legs. The aroma is of corn, straight alcohol distillate, and charred wood. Taste is of those elements, with some corn muffin. Mouthfeel is high medium, and the finish lingers, in a moderate way. Some paper, with this, too. RJT

I had this months ago at fete sau in Philly. I recall this one being buttery like movie popcorn. This was my first excursion into corn whisky. I'll give it four until I get more familiar with corn whisky.
