For people who say this competes with glendronach or macallan, i feel you are misleading folks. I had side by side with glendro 15 and macallan 12 and it paled. Is it better than the other Glenallachie? Yes absolutely but that is because other glenallachie whiskys are mediocre. I don’t get all the praise for billy walker, I don’t think he is a great blender and distiller. He is lucky and a good businessman stumbling across an amazing stock at glendronach. Glenallachie is not in the same league. Sherry dominates both the nose and the palate. It is more rounded than other Glenallachie but not complex, very simple

A sherry bomb with lots of lush flavors. A rich, sweet, and interesting whisky. Definitely one of my favorite whiskies of this flavor profile. We visited the distillery back in May this year and really enjoyed the tour and tasting.
Nose: sweet, dark, heavily sherried influence. Dark cherry, Demerara syrup, syrupy fig, toasted hazelnut, dark chocolate, stewed red/dark fruit. Palate: beautiful and rich. Heathery floral honey, molasses, spiced caramel apple, sweet syrupy sherry, baking spice. Cocoa powder, a touch of orange peel and a light hazelnut. Plum, fig, vanilla creme brulee. Deep toasty woodiness. A little bit of ginger more in its flavor not in heat Finish: warming spicy oak/Christmas spices with a slight earthy fruitiness
Nose: stewed dark fruits, dark/cinnamon spiced cranberry jam, rich and sticky noticeable PX influence, a bit of dark chocolate, black cherry, orange zest. Palate: rich, deep. Heathery honey, hazelnut, cocoa powder, orange peel. a little bit of ginger, brown sugar. Some vanilla cream. Dark fruit influence is prominent. Finish: Some slight sweet oak char
N: Coffe shop, fig, lemon, sawdust, dark chocolate, walnut. P: Buttery lemon tart, biscuits, berries, fabulous and coats mouth well Finish: Medium to long, raspberry maple syrup. First pub night with the bros back from Scotland and this was part of the flight Added water gave it floral nose , cedar and ripe banana peel palate.
Light sweet aroma, caramel and the sherry. Vanilla and oak on the tongue, plenty of burn but it's a combination of barrel and some spice. They play off each other, but the body is a little thin and the burn comes on strong. Above average but nothing really exciting with the flavors or balance.
