About this bottle

This is the second release in GlenAllachie's 50th Anniversary The Past, Present, and Future series which is a tribute to Master Distiller Billy Walker and his 50-year-long career. Representing The Present, this single malt bottling was initially matured in oloroso and PX sherry casks. Then the whisky was placed into virgin Mizunara oak casks with a medium level of toasting and charring to finish its aging, 16 years in total. This is Walker's first use of the Japanese oak species. It is bottled at 48% ABV without any added color or chill-filtering and was released globally in late July 2022. Only 2900 bottles were produced for this limited edition whisky.

Melds together mizunara and sherry very well with notes of sandalwood, molasses, coconuts, nuts, raisins, maple syrup, plums, and yellow fruit. Nose: Sandalwood, Almonds, Coconuts, White Chocolate, Honey, Sultanas, Apricots, Canteloupes, Marzipan Palate: Raisins, Honey, Dates, Grapefruit, Figs, Plums, Licorice, Japanese Incense, Sandalwood, Cherry Cola, Molasses, Maple Syrup Finish: Sandalwood, Molasses, Hazlenuts, Dark Chocolate, Prunes, Acacia Honey, Rose Petals
