Dark toffee aroma, maybe some coffee as well. Initial sweetness hit, maple syrup, quickly replaced by a huge burn from the proof. There are spice and wood flavors that carry it though, they actually work rather well together. It's dark and fiery, enjoyable, but a bit too strong. Proofed down could be even better.
