An elegant, Single Malt Scotch Whisky by Glencadam Distillery in Highlands, Scotland aged for 18 years in Ex-bourbon casks. It has a fruity birth with notes of tropical fruits, wood spices, tobacco, creamy malt spice & white pepper; while a spicy & floral life adds notes of malt, pineapple, citrus, orange blossom & a hint of peat; that led to a long, tart & dry death with notes of nutmeg, white chocolate & a hint of berries. Ah Glencadam where have you been these last 18 years......not in good quality casks that's for sure. Sweet honey and vanilla on the nose, palate doesn't have a lot going on for it. The favour is faint and quickly over powered by the alcohol. This is going to have to be a 2.5. I expect more from 18 wasted years.
Bottle one year open. Apple and cinnamon, and more... Semi-blind comparison with the 15 year, the 18 wins. Subtle dram, one of the best.
Semi-blind. The words smooth, pure and strait where invented for this whisky. Dont't forget to add water! (and not just a few drops)
Honey smell Smooth and sweetish taste Smooth on the tongue
