*** It is a remarkably dark colored dram, all of which is produced without any colouring. Well done! You have to let it air out for the sherry notes to arrive. As soon as it opens, however, the aromas of rum, cognac, and sour-cherries, seasoned with some oak wood, flow out of it - a complex trail of scents! There are definitely old barrels in the background. It is more restrained in the mouth but unmistakeably shows the image of a mature whiskey, with a firm barrel profile. During dry testing it exudes quite dry oak.

(Good Spirits Co. Glasgow – Virtual Whisky Tasting, 9th July 2021). Nose: Quince jam, orange, chocolate, baking spice/ nutmeg, raisins, pears, leather, tobacco. Palate: Christmas cake, chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, blackberries, creamy/buttery Finish: Medium finish. Leather, Armagnac, old wood/oak, PX sherry, dried fruit, dark chocolate. Light bitterness on the aftertaste. This is a warming and delicious sherried whisky. There’s a lovely layering of flavours throughout, although heavy on the sherry/chocolate notes. Fantastic! Came a strong first out of the six drams from those present on the tasting. I voted for this as my favourite of the night.
Delicious! Christmas cake, dark fruits, milk chocolate, caramel, dried apricots, old style whisky in the background, cherry well done, tasteful, dangerous
Not so complex, cereal and nuts, mediocre aftertaste
