As a single malt Scotch, this has a mash bill of 100% malted barley. It's yellow gold in the glass, 80 proof and 12 years old. A 375ml bottle cost me $26.49 at the Uptown Total Wine store here in Albuquerque - at that price you'd think that I can't afford a fifth, but in fact doubling the amount doesn't come anywhere near doubling the price, and next time around I'll get a fifth. NOSE: Granny Smith apples, pineapple, bananas, honey, apple juice, a very faint hint of liniment which actually isn't unpleasant, musty grain, and toasted oak. MOUTHFEEL: Thin. TASTE: Watered down honey, astringent oak, apple pie without the crust. FINISH: Long, with gentle oak, spring water. I really dislike the metal seal - I thought initially that it was plastic, and so I didn't take great care using my thumbnail on the tab. It was more of a painful surprise than actual pain, but it did hurt, and pulling the metal strip off to break the seal was at least as difficult as pulling the tape from a wax seal. But the whisky itself is good. It's not terribly complex, especially on the tongue - the nose is considerably more complex - but it's a nice, light, and fruity whisky.

An enticing nose. Apples, vanilla, honey, dry biscuit and cigarette ash. The arrival is creamy, with sweet ginger and chillis, and a dark fruit and baking spice development. There’s a really well developed spirit here, which could have been something really special without the chill filtration and basic presentation.
This is the first single malt I'd ever tried and I'm now just finishing off a bottle I bought years ago. Honey and apple on the nose, cereal on the palate and a little bit of burn on the short finish. Enjoyable but nothing special.
Nose Soft citrus notes of lemon and vanilla. Taste Flowery, dryness and bitter. The smell is better than the taste.Very low whisky with zero to none tasting notes.
Soft and sweet-tasting full with bitter oak. A friuity full sweetness. This is the label I got in a tasting pack, not the newer called 12 double oak.
Fruity on the nose with some honey, lemon, tea, and vanilla. The palate is not too sweet with vanilla, oak, and maltiness on the finish. Good value.
