One of those bottles i keep seeing on auctions, but never bought it, is this Glenmorangie The Accord; a 12yo single malt matured in bourbon and sherry casks. I have no idea why the called it "the accord". Bottled at 43%abv, tawny color. On the nose, starts a little rough and nutty, but it changes after letting it breath. Hazelnut, nutmeg, sawdust. Very oaky; Red wine. Vanilla fudge. After 2 minutes it has evolved to raisins. It is a little rough on the edges; Grapy. The figs  appear on the nose after a couple sips. Bitter oaky notes on the nose. On the palate, starts very oaky, but there is some citric and acid flavors also present. Gooseberries. Woody. The second sip was all about figs, lovely second taste. The oakiness is still present after a couple of sips. Aftertaste is also very woody/oaky. Sawdust. Very dry. Oak spice. Overall, this travel retail exclusive is a normal whisky that you won't be too dissapointed to buy for drinking with friends. It is nothing too special, nor it is complex; the sherriness has "ghosted" this single malt, and the overly oaky notes are predominant. My score for it is 79 over 100.

On the nose you can find sweetness, dried fruits, raisin, caramel and vanilla. The influence of oloroso is present, and looks like the sherry casks used here were American oak, not European. I couldn’t notice any hints of spices. On the palate I did find it light, with a fruit marmalade profile. Dark chocolate, caramel again, cinnamon, and a short to medium finish. A good whisky, it’s like a less-complex, less refined Glenmo 18, but with more punch.

December 1st advent box. Tried neat with my lovely friend Victor who invited me to be part of this amazing advent calendar! Very floral and fruity on the nares with notes of vanilla, plum, orange. It’s spicy on the palate but smooth with notes of fruit like plums and dates. I don’t get the cappuccino but I wish every cappuccino tasted like this 🤣

Sweet, dried figs, raisins on the nose. Spicy, a brighter fruitiness initially, raisins, dried figs, light vanilla in the background and aftertaste. A bit of chocolate/cocoa further into the aftertaste.

Nose: Vanilla, raisins, caramel, oak, raspberry Palate: Nuts, raisins, strong sweetness Finish: Sweetness, oak, chocolate Much sweeter and less spicier than the lasanta. Still liking it though.
