Golden Horse Musashi

Golden Horse Musashi Pure Malt An elegant, Japanese Whisky bottled under the name Chichibu Golden Horse, both this & it's 12-year-old counterpart predate the distilleries whisky production by a considerable length of time. Distilled by Toa Shuzo Co Ltd, who procured the Hanyu distillery in 2004. This bottle is a return of the traditional Golden Horse whisky, named after Musashi, the famous Samurai warrior in a nod their own revival of this legendary whisky. It has a fresh & floral birth with notes of lemongrass, dried flowers & honey; while a rich life adds notes of malt, hints with honey & lemon hard candy; that led to a sweet & spicy death with hints of jasmine tea. Amontillado sherry colour. N: 23, P: 16, F: 18, B: 16. Aroma at opening was fantastic: dried fruit, vanilla and custard cream. From here it went downhill. The taste is slightly fruity, very dry. The longer the bottle stayed open, the harsher and simpler turned the taste.
