Single barrel cask proof straight bourbon whiskey, BTB Edition #1, from NHCABC (New Hanover County ABC, North Carolina), 61.9% ABV. NAS, but reportedly a blend of 5 and 7 year bourbons. Tasting neat. Golden brown and average coating legs in the glass. Nose is light, floral grain, and vanilla. Tannic oak, char, vanilla, and a healthy ethanol burst opens the mouth. Dry and dusty, grassy spicy, then brown sugar sweet shows up. Coating oily mouthfeel. Nose and mouth couldn't be more different. Finish starts from that hot spicy mouth and turns a little sweet-sour underneath the spicy, oaky baseline. Long tingling finish. After a half hour open in-glass, this bourbon is opening up, softening, and the butterscotch sweetness is growing against the tannic oak. Ice calms the heat but not the smoky tannic character. While not a really balanced flavor drink, each part is good on its own. Interesting, not easy,

Bougth the pick from Turtle Creek in Bethlehem GA. A great bottle. Nose is actually pretty like goven the prrof but the taste just hits you where you know its higher proof. Tremendous finish that warms and medium long. Great vanilla notes and a lot of places it hit the palette. Only major criticism is that it is a bit drying on the palette … but this is one id buy agai especially for the $50 it sold for.
Nose: A lot of sweetness. Classic caramel, vanilla and an air of honey suckle. Palate: Thick and full mouth feel, the oak is strong and again lots of sweat flavors. Finish: The finish is amzingly long, cotton candy and charged oak. This is sunch an alazong single with tons of swear flavors. First time trying Green River and am interested to try some of their other offerings.
Wow, this is a real treat! It’s got a sweet pineapple flavor that’s just delightful. The taste on your tongue is a fun adventure—it starts off sweet, then hits you with a spicy black pepper, and finally wraps up with a leathery finish. I thought it was fantastic, offering a wide range of flavors that really hit the spot for any bourbon lover.
A quick-take from Whiskey in the Winter St. Louis Whiskey Festival: Vanilla and maple on the nose, the palate has a nutty profile, and a nice medium to long finish. Wow. Green River does it again with a great full-proof pour.
Initially after first being opened it was too hot and ethanol forward, but it needed time to open up and then came the stone fruits alongside flavors of vanilla, spice, and oak, and there is a nice creamy mouthful to it. .
