Honestly... every liquor store and their neighbor has a single barrel of it. Seems like a relatively simple bourbon rye blend. Literally everything they touch has ratings through the roof, it’s literally Mr. Bob Dylan himself’s brand, and there’s about half a billion single barrels... so why is it so readily available? Affordable? And why is no one digging into it? We’ll probably one of the main questions you have to ask, literally every store has a single barrel, which one is best? I sprung for one that meant something to me... Loyalty Liquors in the colony in north Texas did a collab with folds of honor, donating proceeds to fallen veterans and their loved ones... I am a loved one of a fallen veteran so it had that extra sentimental value... I felt it (my dads love) as I was swiping my card on this honestly really beautiful whiskey... got it home and busted it open. Relatively low proof, so it drinks honestly refreshing with nice corn and sweetness in the front and back, and light cinnamon vanilla holding the body together. My takeaway is that it is a really great solid whiskey, drinks easy for anyone who wants it, and has an awesome story/backing. It’s not some incredibly juice that I think I struck absolute gold on, but I’d come back to it, and I’d never turn it down if offered. I’m glad I got this bought because it means more to me symbolically than what the corn and rye juice inside might represent. Worth drinking and having ready to go whenever you want a good sipper to help get through life.

Nose: nice little cinnamon and apple spicy nose, background of oak / malted chocolate. Sweet and simple. Palate: hard to distinguish. Apple skins, maybe? After a water back maybe a hint of those little caramel cream candies if you held a gun to my head. Smooth for sure but really nothing epic. Short to moderate length finish. Really reaching but I have no idea what the goal was here. Can find much better for less! Sweet bottle! Ha.

Heavens Door Highway 61 Blend (rye and bourbon) 93.6 proof Light in color simply looks like hay in a glass. The nose is tight, with hints of summer grass and fresh bike tire. The first sip shows up a fair amount of young whiskey. The second sip opens up to a very rye forward whiskey with hints of black pepper and fried rice.

Not a bad bourbon by any means, but a bit pricier than it should be due to the name attached. I love Bob Dylan, and I like his bourbon, but it is probably about 10-15 bucks more per bottle than it should be for this particular blend.

Really delicious. Truly exceeded my expectations. I wanted to keep drinking more and more. This is my first Heaven's Door expression and I am excited to try more.

A pretty simple whiskey with the vanilla and a bit of rye spice. I find it to be a little ‘flat’ for lack of better words.
