If not want to read long, my conclusion is go buying something else!! Lack of smell, structure, body, aromas, and the worst of all... aftertaste. The positive side, the only one I had, is oak note, which come in a little harsh feeling too. Smell almost nothing but alcohol, and taste almost nothing else but oak and wood notes, and they're all gone with the wind in very short time... Comparing to Martell VS, which is cheaper (as I can find), Martell is better in everything... Even mixed with coffee, this Hennessy VS is not beautiful.. I'll try to make ice cream with it later, but for now, will drink something else!! ????
About this bottle

Since 2016, Renaud Fillioux de Gironde has been the Master Blender for Hennessy, and in fact the Fillioux family has been blending for Maison Hennessy for over 200 years.

Interesting that it’s my first time tasting and out of ignorance, I always thought this was a Tennessee whiskey. I was just fooled by the name. The funny thing is that after sipping I still thought it was a whiskey. It’s a sweet vanilla and honey mix with ginger, which lingers more towards the end. But then i realized it’s too sweet in the end with some zesty citric notes. It’s a little flat with less complexity, so it could be a good mix for other drinks. There’s a refreshing finish that seems like minty feeling. Cheers!
Bold and lively with a punch of character its for those who like their cognac with edge. On the nose, it hits with strong notes of toasted oak, vanilla, and a touch of grape skin. The palate follows with hints of caramel, spice, and charred wood, showing its youthful energy. The mouthfeel is fiery and a bit rough around the edges, but not without charm. The finish is short but leaves behind a warm, smoky sweetness. Best enjoyed in mixed drinks or over ice—this is not a subtle sipper, but it brings bold flavor for the price.
A delicate, brandy by Hennessy Distillery in Cognac, France made from a blend of over 40 Eaux de Vie from the 4 premier growing regions in Cognac aged for a minimum of 2 years in oak. It has an aromatic birth with notes of fruit, flowers, nuts, wood & spices; while a rich & delicate life adds notes of apple, caramel, vanilla, warm pecans, almonds, cedar & oak; that led to a warming death of medium length with notes of grape must. Decided to try a pour of this on the rocks at a work function. My initial impression was that it reminded me of fruit punch. Berries and grapes from the beginning followed by a slightly too sweet mouthfeel. Not much of a finish, but also nothing at all unpleasant about the experience. I get why It's a crowd pleaser. Still, if you looked up overpriced in the dictionary, this would be there right next to the Macallan.
Almost exclusively bouquet (but an exciting one, at that), with little happening on the palate; the only discernable flavors are mostly barrel notes on the long and drying finish; slight dilution might open it up a little, but neat is mostly just ethanol burn. To each their own, but I feel it sacrifices character for the sake of being inoffensive.
