Ok. First we must recognize this is not straight whiskey so if that is your only bag put the bottle down and walk away. This one is for the home bartender that just can't figure out how to mix up a good drink, but still wants to enjoy a bar special in their own comfy abode. Taste here is nice, but nothing special. A little pepper from the Rye comes through, but the bitters are almost too strong here with the vermouth almost lost completely. I appreciate the concept on this bottle, but highly suggest a cocktail book and some trial and error to reach true home cocktail happiness!

Expected a spicy rye with subtle bitters and overly sweet vermouth to balance. Pleasantly surprised it was really well put together. Poured neat, it’s easy to taste a smokiness and slight spice, possibly from a blend of the Campfire and Rendezvous whiskies. Slight sweet from Vermont and bitters. Mellows quick when on the rocks. I’d recommend putting it in a shaker with ice to chill and strain into a glass to preserve the flavors.
Definitely can taste the cherry. Very smooth with a nice oak flavor
