Scene 8 NEAT NOSE - Subtle hints of rye space overshadowed by prominent notes of port wine, raspberries, and plum. PALATE - Lovely, rich mouthfeel with notes of vanilla, raspberries, and juicy plums. FINISH - Very long finish. Initially, there’s a rush of rye spice thats quickly taken over by tangy and sweet plum skins. BUY? - I hate this price point, but this is a lovely whiskey. I’ve only had a pour from an earlier batch and I’ve never been lucky enough to find a bottle until now. If you like wine finished whiskies, I’d buy this if you’ve never had this bottle before. For some of those who have had prior batches for less money and say the quality is better, I don’t fault you for not paying the $150. If i bought this expression years ago for $80-120, I’d be pretty upset with the price hike and percieved drop in quality. BUY AGAIN? - Not backing up due to the price point, but I will look forward to next year’s batch! *my rating does not take price into consideration on this one*
High West A Midwinter Night's Dram Act 13 (All Scenes)
About this bottle
A Midwinter Night's Dram is a seasonal release from High West and Act 13 marks the 13th annual edition. It begins with the brand's Rendezvous Rye, a blend of straight rye whiskeys aged 4-10 years which are made from two mash bill recipes: one is a 95% rye/5% malted barley distilled in Indiana and the other is an 80% rye/20% malted rye made at High West in Utah. Then the rye blend is further finished in ruby and tawny port casks. Note: The Act reflects the batch number (Act 13 is the 2025 release) while the Scene is the bottling date. Available in limited quantities nationwide and at High West Distillery and Saloon locations beginning October 2025. (SRP $149.99)

nose - candied plums, cardamom, vanilla, star anise, rye spices palate - sweet rye, nutmeg, cinnamon, nutty, black jam, tawny port finish - medium warmth and length, rye spices and black pepper to finish It's a shame the MSRP has increased to $150. This is a solid finished rye, but there are better bottles at around a third of the price.
An amazing mouth feel, with exquisite flavor. Notes of plum, vanilla, and chocolate with some subtle rye and port influence. Very good bottle, but a bit expensive. Would recommend trying at least once
Pretty nice and tasty rye. Low proof makes it go down easy with that mild burn. A great rye overall!
Great holiday bourbon flavors.
