Nose: Smells great, some type of fruit like fig or plum with crembrullee. Sounds weird but it works in my mind. Taste: actually on taste it is pleasant but I am having a hard time picking out anything specific. Maybe light notes of brown sugar type candy. Not really getting the cabernet notes coming theough though. Mouthfeel: smooth and thin, doesnmt really coat your mouth. Finish: Not the shortest finish, but on that side of the spectrum. Overall: Enjoyable and pleasant to have a pour, but my favorite part was the nose while drinking. Will see how this one changes after being open a while. Nice to ha e a bottle on the shelf and glad I tried but in this price range something like a Knob Creek 9yr single barrel would be my choice.

Nose of heavy oak, Cabernet, rye, pear, charcoal, vanilla. Palate sweet vanilla and fruit, oak tannins, dry cab, spicy rye; bold all around. Long spicy, oaky tannic finish. With a little water the tannins really open up and it smells more like the inside of a cabernet barrel than a bourbon and there’s a new chocolate covered cherry element. The flavors are all there but they blend better. Good either way, but I think the water really makes it shine. Procured in Santa Fe New Mexico with @twostal

Tried neat thanks to my lil taster from @looneyhead On the nose I get lots of grain, like wheat, and spice. Tried to let it sit and open up and it didn’t so I added a small ice cube. Andddd should have maybe gone with a couple drops of water but whatecer. Slight notes of vanilla & caramel, oak, and char to the nose and weird enough.. brine from a pickle jar which is brief and very interesting. I’m going to have to revisit this one again some day

Nose: brown sugar, citrus rind, and in the back…maple. A little spiritous but nice just the same. Palate: lemon juice, boysenberry syrup, melon, caramel, black pepper. A little hot. Finish: citrus rind, melon, strawberry menthols This drinks a lot like a cask strength sherried scotch…and thats a compliment. Solid stuff.

Appearance - Reddish brown, orangish when held thin. Quite oily. Nose - Grapes, wine-like, vanilla Palate - Initial grape and vanilla sweetness. It quickly transitions into a spiced flavor and mild burn. Finish - Dry, moderate length

Lot of whiskeys taste great on the first sip, really bad on the 2nd, and then mellow out with some more sips/rocks. This is one of those. This one is awesome on the nose. Solid overall.
