Pepper and peat lead the way in this lightly smoky, lightly salty 10 year version. Butterscotch and dried fruit flavours are concluded by lemony acidity and a teaspoon of honey. Classic Highland Park character but entry-level quality.
About this bottle
This whisky was selected by Highland Park's Danish brand ambassador, Martin Markvardsen. The single malt was aged for 10 years in a combination of 70% American ex-bourbon barrels and 30% ex-Oloroso sherry casks. Formerly only released in Sweden, this bottling has since expanded its availability to several other European markets. It is not currently available in the US.

Caramel and dried fruits on the nose. Well rounded pepper, oak, cereal and brine on the pallette, with light smoke and notes of lemonleaves and honey as it goes along. Missing the sherry?
Very Highland Park sherry, earth, caramel, chocolate, oak, sweet, touch of smoke. Too good for its nice price, probably why they discontinued it.
