Uncorking and blind tasted with 4 islay. lost smoke immediately in the glass leaving a faint sea air and peat but mild. Almost candied taste, buttery, tastes bourbon barreled? Sweetness and oak really come through with buttery richness. Taste the oak too mid palatw. No bite at all but it does a warm hug going down. Really easy to drink. Smooth but not overly complex. Oily. Finish doesn't linger a lot but is salted buttery sweet popcorn 10 ft from a fire on the beach.

Nose: medium smoky peat, campfire essence, light sea-like air note, brine, crisp fruits, apple, honey. Taste: malt, light pleasant fruit notes, baking spices, white peppery note, sea salt, maritime feel with a nice medium smokiness that lingers well but doesn’t overstay its welcome. Great for someone getting into the peat game and it doesn’t kick you in the face too hard. Not overly complex but decent overall.

An intense, Single Malt Scotch from Islay, Scotland aged for a minimum of 10 years. It has an aromatic birth with notes of peat, smoke & spices; while a bold life adds notes of iodine, seaweed & salinity; that led to a long & peaty death. October 2019 / 2020 / September / November 2022

Es steht nicht drauf, was der Abfüller da eingekauft hat, aber da es auf Islay nicht die Riesenauswahl an Destillen gibt, wette ich das sich in dieser Flasche ein Ardbeg befindet und das für schlappe 28 Euros. Wer gerne Ardbeg trinkt, sollte hier unbedingt mal reinprobieren.

My first dabble with Islay scotch. What hits me most is the campfire smokiness. Very smooth with interesting flavors I can’t place just yet. Absolutely an acquired taste but I think this could grow on me.
