NOSE Floral, butterscotch, oak, nutmeg, vanilla cake and herbal notes. It’s light, floral and not quite cohesive. There’s something a touch off here. It’s disjointed and doesn’t remind me of any specific distillery. PALATE Butterscotch, oak, nutmeg, yellow cake and touch soapy, herbal and fruity. J.R. Ewing Private Reserve Bourbon has this floral note that comes and goes in strength which keeps throwing me and I’m not enjoying… at all. FINISH Short -> Caramel, floral and fruity drifts quickly to a metallic nuttiness.

Tasting notes: glencairn, neat, room temperature. No ice added, no water added. Nose: all sugar. Nothing but sweetness on the nose. Vanilla? Maybe. Not too complex. Palate: thin, even for 80 proof. Still stays on the sweet side. Maybe still a little vanilla but it's faint. No meat on this bone. Probably a good guest whiskey or a good starter whiskey. Finish: Quick. Doesn't hang around at all.

Seems "thin" overall. Tried neat at first. On the nose was a vegetal smell and it had a rye/grain forward taste, with a quick finish. Added a standard ice cube per roughly 2 shots of this liquor and it changed the flavor a bit for the better: light notes of vanilla, cocoa powder, smooth...still a quick finish. This will be a one time buy because there's better out there on the market at this price point.

[02.08.2017] Tolerable if free. Turned down a lot of go-tos to try this and check off my list in a bar with poor service and loud music - Madison, WI. Smooth and mostly flavorless, this was like taking a good corn whiskey, diluting with city water and putting in a used barrel for a while. Don't bother.

Tried it in the Glencairn glass. Overpoweringly floral and chemical. Seriously tasted bad. Like crayons. Sadly, no negative stars. Two months later. Red plastic cup. Vastly improved. Actually drinkable. I don’t know what to say. No, it’s a two star rating.

Surprised with the low reviews, nothing to brag about but I enjoyed a full bottle with a few friends and some good laughs. Don’t know if I’d buy again but can’t say I didnt enjoy it
