J.W. Kelly Old Milford Single Barrel Select Double Oaked Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a good, intense, 'Straight Bourbon from Chattanooga, Tennessee aged first for 5 to 8 years. Once the barrel has been selected it is then transferred into a new American oak barrel & aged for another 8-12 months before being bottled at cask strength (109 proof). It has an intense birth with notes of oak & spice; while a complex life adds notes of baking spice, white pepper, nutmeg, hints of caramel, vanilla & English toffee; that led to a long & woody death with a touch of heat, hints of coffee & chocolate. On the nose - carmel and vanilla, with a hint of char Pallet - the caramel and vanilla with a little spice, maybe cinnamon Finish - a little burn, but not bad for 109 proof. Very good and a little sweet but still holds up as a burbon
Rich wave of caramel, vanillas, then some mild cherrywood, intense oakiness, following this is an intense cinnamon baking spice finish thays medium to full length. Im pretty happy with it tbh
Very fruity...dates and figs, a little pine, mint... spicy and hot...finish with a touch of ethanol and the lingering fruit. Not your typical bourbon.
Smells like airplane glue and balsa wood. Tastes better, but nothing to write home about. @kyle-metes-Randolph. @brandymcnamara
Not a fan. Big Red Liquors store pick, something just not right with it. May revisit after it sits awhile...
