very floral on the nose. hearty oak flavor from aging on a ship on the rolling ocean. punchy on first taste with a long pepper bite. does not mello much on remainders of tasting.
About this bottle
As with each expression ("voyage") of Jefferson's Ocean, this small batch straight bourbon reached full maturation in a traditional rickhouse. The barrels then spent several months at sea on an OCEARCH shark monitoring vessel that crossed the equator 4 times, beginning in Savannah, Georgia and sailing through the Panama Canal at temperatures in the 70s and 80s. It is bottled at 90 proof.
