The nose is an immediate burst of the perfect mixture of charred oak, floral rye and molasses. There are smoother notes of vanilla and brown sugar that help hold it all together, as notes of ripe fruit start to appear. The palate is dry and chewy, filling the mouth with charred oak, funk and rye spice, and ripe fruit and vanilla envelope it all in the most perfect, subtle way. This shows it's age very well by offering a perfect mix of oak and spice. It is full bodied, bold and rich, and doesn't need too much going on. The finish is medium long with oak and spice that gently fades into all corners of the mouth.
