Nose: vanilla sweetness, maple candy, vague fruitiness Palate: vanilla, hint of what seems like sherry sweetness, rock candy Finish: vanilla, caramel, white pepper, small puff of peat smoke It’s it engineered to be smooth? Yes. Does it have E150 and chill filtration? Yes. Is it overpriced? Yes. Does it need to be higher than 80 proof? Yes. But, is it good? Well, yes. It’s an inoffensive prestige blend in a pretty bottle that makes a good gift to your father in-law. It’s not meant to be a daily drinker or a serious blend for the hard core Scotch aficionado. But it’s a luxurious blend that will appeal to a multitude of palates.

ok this is fantastic. like the best whisky ever or close to that. very diferent to my other favorite the hibiki harmony, Johnnie Walker XR 21 is beautiful on the nose with a very creamy vanilla note, if you pour a drop on your hand it will smell like the seed from a peach and if you let it sit for a couple of minutes you'll also get a tiny orange or some other citrus fruit note. on the palate you get a very spicy almost hot sensation, and the finish is medium with a mild smoke sensation. this is a very complex and beautiful whisky. by far the best i had so far

JOHNNIE WALKER XR 21 Bottling Code: L3338CS000 Bottle opened: 6 Months Final Review date: 16-6-20 N: Floral and nice mix of dense Fruit Sweets. Sweet fizzy Peach drink, Orange Zest, and sweet undertones of Vanilla. Raisins and some Cinnamon Spice. (8/10) P: Forest Fruit Jam and heaps of Wild Honey. Mild Smoke with Cinnamon Spice on the tongue. Oak and Citrus. (6/10) F: Medium and Dry. Honey, lots of Oak, and Smoke. (6/10) Bit harsh for the age.

NOSE: Pretty grainy initial impression. Caramel. Vanilla. Some butter. PALATE: Sweet caramel and brown butter. Rich thick cream. Mildly spicy finish of candied ginger and baked cinnamon. Deelicious. OVERALL: Luscious exquisite palate, somewhat let down by a simple nose.

Just received this bottle yesterday and to sum it up in one word, WOW! This Johnnie Walker isn’t smoked like all the other blends of theirs I’ve tried. Instead, it’s very light and slightly fruity. Extremely pleasant and I will definitely be going back for more!

Had this the night before my wedding as a gift from the wifey. Sweet, creamy, toffee and butterscotch. Too bad I can only find this internationally but I would get another bottle in a heartbeat if I start traveling again as this is one of my faves.
