I think they made up a lot of the flavors that I'm supposed to be tasting in this rum, but I definitely tasted caramel, molasses, and banana, so this rum had more depth than Kraken. Additionally, I am impressed by its smoothness at 94 proof. Double gold seems like an exaggeration, but I can't deny the technical competence of Jonah's Curse and I enjoyed it OK. And it's cheap! It is super sweet though and quite mild. A good choice for mixing in a tropical drink.

Nose is molasses, caramel, vanilla, banana, tropical fruits, hint of wood. Taste is intensely sweet, molasses, banana candy, cinnamon, allspice. seems a little artificial. Finish is long with saccharine, bitter molasses. Obviously not meant for sipping. Makes a good Rum and Coke
Aromas of caramel and dark fruits. Molasses. Plum. Cherry. Vanilla. Banana. Flavor is more of the same but more intense. Heavy burn from the proof. And very sweet. I have quite the sweet tooth so I’d have been swayed if the finish and aftertaste had not gone so rubbery.
Very fruity and a bit sweet, but smooth. It does have a hint of artificiality to it, but that's totally tolerable.
Side by side tasting with kraken and Myers. This smells fake right on the nose and tastes like artificial caramel
