Jura Red Wine Cask Finish

Nose: Sweet, slightly chemical. Forest fruit, berries, vanilla, caramel. Quite light on the nose. Palate: Spirit forward, barrel char, summer fruit, vanilla, citrus/lime, light tannic spiciness Finish: Medium long finish. Spicy - black pepper, ginger and chilli, toasted oak, maltiness, more of the summer fruit. Tannic on the aftertaste. Fruity and malty, there’s a nice spiciness throughout. Loads of summer fruit and berries with a dry, tannic note.

The colour is beautiful. Rich, deep mahogany. Nose is dry red wine with some honey undertones. The palate is rich a fruity with the wine more pronounced in the finish. For me, the colour and the nose are the most enjoyable part of the whisky, the palate not quite there for me.

Lots of red wine notes mingled with whisky and a nice dark amber colour. Not a huge deal coming after that to be honest but with a dry finish. Lots of nose, but sadly not much thereafter.

Nose - fairly standard, with prominent red apple and caramel. Palate is very mellow, with vanilla, toffee, apricot, and apple. Not very complex, but quite nice and very drinkable.

Muscavado sugar on the nose, light mouth feel with a sweetness and smokiness. Quite a sensation of burning alcohol. Relatively short finish but not a bad drink.

This whisky has a real old school flavour, reminds me of being a kind a sneaking a sip from my dads glass. Easy to drink, fairly smooth, overall a lovely whisky
