Delicious and complex, though also unusual. Takes a few minutes for the nose to open, but when it does, it's wonderful. There's the port influence, some walnut, some fruity undertones... Great stuff. The palate has additional hints of peach and oak, with a slightly syrupy texture. It all works together, though I admit I'm not used to so much nuttiness in a single malt. Worth trying!
About this bottle
This limited edition bottling was created for the distillery's annual whisky festival which runs during the Fèis Ìle (Islay Fest). This single malt is a blending of whiskies aged in first-fill American oak bourbon casks, ex-bourbon casks, and Graham's Ruby Port pipes. This single malt is non chill-filtered and bottled at cask strength. It is the first limited release overseen by new Distillery Manager Graham Logan who replaced Willie Cochrane upon his retirement in September 2016.

No water needed even at 51% I am not a huge Jura fan, but this is a lovely dram! Nose: Raisins, barley, sherry sweetness, oak Taste: Matches the nose well. Raisin, fig, and malt.
Nose: sweeter honey smell, notes of bananas and vanilla. Body: taste of vanilla, blackpepper and honey, Finish: long lasting, leaving pepper and wood notes in your mouth.
