I was amazingly surprised with how good this bourbon is and it’s a bargain for the price. It’s smooth, light on the nose and the flavors are more subtle with a mild sweet finish. The information given by the store manager was… Kelsey Creek is a Sazerac brand that comes from the Buffalo Trace distillery. Originally intended to be bottled as Eagle Rare but due to a production error the flavor came out a little sweeter on the back end and was unfit under that label. It was decided to keep the botched batch and bottle it as a special reserve under the Kelsey Creek name. It’s popularity rose amongst consumers and it was decided to repeat the production error and continued flavor. An interesting story whether true or not.

When I first opened it, I didn’t like it for some reason. I tried it probably 4-6 months later and damn it was really good. I must’ve been having an off palate day when I first tried it, or it’s one of those bourbons that just needs to breathe.
Pretty mild on the nose and the front. Just not much flavor, then again it's a lower ABV. Some good spice towards the end. Not too sweet and fairly smooth.

It was shockingly smooth, gets better the longer it sits on ice. Definitely adding to my daily sipper rotation!!
Fairly smooth. Getting a strong spice note at the end. Will be adding this to the daily sipper rotation.
