This is a very high proof bottle of juice, but you can only tell on the nose. It is smooth and dangerously easy to sip. The nose gives you a lovely gentle toffee with a sweet spice and gently browned toast. You smell a bit longer and you get some leather and the ethanol starts to sting the nostrils so you know its strength. The palate is smooth, from start to finish it warms your whole mouth, fails to burn even a little, completely warm. Those spices from the nose linger, almost as if you are eating white bread, butter and cinnamon sugar. Very soft and smooth with a long finish that ends with some stronger spice almost to remind you that this particular bird is a a hunter, a bird of prey, one that hunts at night and leaves no trace of its presence. *I revisited this last week and now I get a funky banana at the very end... I like it a lot. If you find this and its in your bourbon budget. Buy it.

Neat. Neck pour. Super rich. Floral at first but transitions to a baking spice bomb. Cinnamon. Burnt caramel. Nice cherry. Burnt sugar and French vanilla. It’s really nice. Perfectly balanced. None of the flavors are aggressive but they are distinct and rich. Wow, it’s a roller coaster. A long roller coaster. I want to go for another sip but it’s still hitting me with flavors. Alright, the texture is super oily, thick but smooth. An overwhelming brown sugar and cherry sweetness is the first to strike. Flips into a cinnamon bomb, mutes for a second and then brings caramel, char, vanilla in waves. It finishes like a creme brûlée. Holy shit. That is amazing. That may be the best bourbon I have ever had. Most expensive thing I have ever purchased but it is amazing. Flavor is still coming. Wrote two paragraphs and the flavors are still coming in waves. I’m shocked.

The color is a very deep and almost dark amber, nearly ruby. Despite being such high proof, it doesn’t want to leave behind much oil as you swirl it around. The nose is very gentle and opens with notes of sweet fruit, vanilla and oak. Rye and subtle cinnamon follow behind, very much reminding you of walking into a bakery. The palette is dry and full and fills the mouth with spicy oak, cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg and black pepper. There is a certain creaminess to it behind all the spiciness which rounds out the taste very nicely, with buttery notes of vanilla and fresh bread. The finish is medium long and leaves the mouth feeling nice and spicy with cinnamon, oak, sweet vanilla all fading nicely but perhaps a little too quick.

This is incredibly good. Smooth across the pallet and very smooth finish . The nose is consistent with the first sip all the way through the finish which lingers and dances on the tongue like a guild of cane sugar Carmel fairies. I'm lucky to get a taste of such a rare and delicious bourbon. Thanks BillT

Wow!! Full of flavor. Considering the proof it was very smooth! Appearance dark amber. Smells of age but no burning on the nose. Complex taste with long lasting flavor. Is it worth the price? Only if you have an extra $300 to spend but it is very good!
