About this bottle

Kilbeggan Triple Cask Irish Whiskey is a relaunched name and packaging for the previously known "Kilbeggan Single Grain" whiskey. The liquid and proof is the same as the former whiskey, but the new name highlights the three casks used in maturation: ex-bourbon, ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry, and virgin American oak barrels. It bears no age statement and is bottled at 86 proof. The new bottling is expected to launch globally beginning January 2022.

Rich nose of shoe leather, vanilla, oak, & light fruit notes, a robust body of spicy cinnamon, vanilla & caramel, spiced oak, light fruit notes, a silky smooth mouthfeel, w/ a gentle smooth vanilla, oak, & spice finish. Tasted neat in a rocks glass.

The triple cask is significantly better than the entry level Kilbeggan's. Definitely worth paying a little more. The more flavorful profile puts this on my list of most recommended mid-shelf Irish whiskies.

I don’t LOVE the taste (nor dislike it) but definitely a lot more complex in flavor. Very interesting, would need to drink it a few more times to know how exactly I feel about this one.
