On the nose the pecans taken over, and made me think this wasn't going to be very good, but once I took a taste, I was pleasantly surprised. I taste the rum, and honey, then get a nice hit from the pecans that leave a nice after taste. I feel this would be a great mixer as well, though I have yet to try that.
Locally sourced ingredients from the Outer Banks area. This is excellent on the rocks, and quite reminiscent of a whiskey. Pairs great with their very own candied pecans used in the distilling process.
Smooth, nutty and not too sweet. I was told, at the distillery, the honey was added in minimal amounts, not for sweetness, but to smooth out the flavor
Smooth on the palate. The pecans really come through on the finish with the dry, nutty flavor
