Local store had a bottle of this on the clearance shelf for $9.99...I mean, is that not the definition of a no-brainer? Anyway, what do we have here...a nice ruddy amber pour with a surprisingly dry, leathery, woody nose...hints of fruit, but there's a lot of fresh oak going on here. It is a nice bourbon that noses like it has more age than I expect it has. The flavor is a bit light, and doesn't necessarily hold up to the nose. Sweet and fruity, but still some "wet" wood notes throughout...but while the nose suggests some age, the flavor feels much more youthful, but not in a bad way. There's also plenty of telltale vanilla. Drinks hotter than its ABV...this is an excellent pour for what I paid for it, but would have much less value at MSRP for me personally. Regardless, a pleasant sipper that would please most bourbon drinkers, including those newer to the game

Color: Deep, deep amber. Nose: Cherries, red apples, raisins, and currants. Fresh, fruity, and tart with a lingering suggestion of dried leather and fresh-cut hardwood. Palate: Soft marshmallows and creamy manuka honey welcome you in, while rich molasses and delicate vanilla persist. Finish: Here a little young, but makes up for it in verve. Sweet and hot, like a stack of fresh pancakes doused in maple syrup. Diluted: Nose grows more vegetative, with some mint and tobacco emerging, while the palate unfortunately only thins. The finish with a splash of water develops a distinctly mineralic character -- don't add water to this.

Flaviar 03/22 Blind Test C - [ ] Pour is nice and smooth - no bubbles - [ ] Color is a very dark amber. - [ ] Smell is soft, but loaded with vanilla and ginger - [ ] Taste is a LOT of vanilla - SO smooth. Some butterscotch and soft nutty and toffee notes - [ ] Upon reveal, I mischaracterized the BOLD butterscotch flavor in this whiskey with vanilla. Fruit and apple do come through. I really enjoyed this whiskey the best of the three. Very sweet with a hint of apple and chocolate - [ ] 4.25

A complex, Straight Bourbon Whiskey by Kings County Distillery in Brooklyn, New York made from local organic corn & malted barley from the United Kingdom. It is distilled twice using copper pot stills & aged in New charred American Oak barrels. It has a bitter birth with hints of smoke, vanilla & caramel; while a bold & spicy life adds notes of vanilla, cinnamon, fruits & butterscotch; that led to a quick & drying death with hints of apple & chocolate. January 2020 / August 2022

Vanilla and frosting on the nose. Butterscotch and cinnamon greet the palate. The cinnamon lingers through the finish as the tastes fade into apple and eventually chocolate. A well balanced whisky. Not sure if I’d pay $70 for it, but nice in the sample pack.

Bought a 375 mL at Belmont Bev on 23 and Cleveland for $35. Incredibly deep and load flavor. Nose is bitter, spicy, and young Taste is deeply vanilla with cinnamon, butterscotch, and apple. Short finish
