The nose starts with charred oak, smoke, leather, rise spice and a touch of cherry. Smoother notes open up in the background with vanilla and a touch of brown sugar. It is very full but not overpowering. It is extremely enjoyable to keep visiting before taking a sip. The palate is somewhat dry and fills the mouth with strong notes of charred oak and pepper. Cherry comes in behind it followed by smoother notes of vanilla and brown sugar. The flavors are quite intense and very easy to swirl around the mouth. It's wonderful taking some time to visit with these flavors as this whiskey allows you to do despite its high proof. The finish is medium long and slightly peppery, as oak, cherry and vanilla come together to fade deliciously.
