Owned by William Grant & Sons, Kininvie Distillery in Speyside's Dufftown is one of Scotland's youngest distilleries. Janet Sheed Roberts, who was the granddaughter of William Grant, opened the distillery in 1990. This single malt, of which 80% matured in American bourbon oak and 20% matured in sherry oak, was launched in 2014 as a Global Travel Retail exclusive. Presented in 350ml sized bottles, each includes the year of distillation, batch information, and bottle number.

On the nose: Pear, vanilla, and cereal. The palate is rich, with a bit of burnt match, apple, pear, toasted oak, beeswax, and honey. Light, tannic finish with lots of apple, pear, baking spices, and slightly bitter oak.
Woody spiciness and silky sweetness a great combo in a well designed bottle. Too many good memories with this
