About this bottle

Kopper Kettle is made by Belmont Farm Distillery in Virginia. The three grains used in the whiskey is grown on the farm, though the exact mixture of corn, wheat, and barley used in the whiskey is kept secret. The whiskey is twice distilled using an antique copper pot still. Virginia oak and apple wood chips are left to soak in the whiskey for two months before it is aged in oak barrels for 4 years.

I pick up the apple chips in the nose, appropriate maybe to its apple juice color. Neat, I taste corn tapering to anise before a long tail of alcohol burn. Adding a bit of water or maybe because it's been in the glass longer there is corn on the nose and a sweet oily mouth feel. Like its color, the overall experience is one of lightness. A true maverick, there is no suggestion of bourbon or scotch. A nice whiskey to drink and savor.

Very sweet, young whiskey. I smell honey and apples. The taste I get a lot of honey and apple as well. A little bit of spice at the end. Can definitely tell it was only aged two years. It’s a light, refreshing sip during the summer or a nice Virginia fall evening.

Dont live too far from here so definitely worth trying. Definitely a light color than my other whiskies. Apples are evident but theres still something about this that’s lacking. The finish is lacking

Nose: sweet apple, ethanol Palate: sweet and apple without much depth or maturity Finish: short with apple and heavy ethanol “When in Rome...”

Nose was almost like cotton candy. Tasted a little more like a Scotch than a Bourbon to me. A lot of depth and a warm, smoky finish. Nice.

Sweet, peppery. Apples. Lighter than a high end, heavily-aged bourbon, but good sipping nonetheless.
