Koval Dry Gin

An aromatic, certified as both organic & kosher, dry Gin by Koval Distillery in Chicago, Illinois crafted with a grain base of their whisky, juniper & 13 botanicals (including: grains of paradise, rose hip, angelica root & coriander) before being bottled at 47% ABV. It has an aromatic birth with notes of berries, citrus, wildflowers, herbs & spices; while a bold & dry life adds notes of juniper, grains of paradise, rose hip, angelica root & coriander; that led to a long & spicy death with more notes of white pepper & more coriander. Unique and fruity; this gin is smooth and malty, leaving you with a “bubble gum” flavored finish. No floral whatsoever. It’s so subtle it loses all complexity. I almost rated it 3 stars because of the price; however, the unique “bubble gum” finish is quite pleasant. No burn whatsoever, so nice on the rocks. If you like your gin floral and complex it’s not your cup of tea. I don’t know if I can recommend it to anyone because of the cost.

Very good. Has more burn than I usually like, but it isnt brutal either. It isn't overly floral but has some nice citris and other notes going on that make it more than a typical dry gin.

Not my favorite, not a very complex taste. Juniper is about all I get. It does have a significant burn more than normal. Perhaps that’s why not many flavors come through.

Starts off sweet and floral with hints of lavender but ends with strong notes of juniper and pine. It’s like going through the seasons in one sip!

Clean, crisp, juniper and pine flavors. Light and perfect sipper, with a satisfying finish. My favorite dry gin, hands down.
