Lovely Japanese whisky. This is a blend which also contain scotch whiskeys, but it’s finished in white oak, not sure what flavor it has bit the resulting drink is delightful. It’s pretty light on the nose, but it has a lot of flavors going on. Floral, grassy, fresh, and almost a bit medicinal with some nuttiness and a hint of smoke. The flavor is sweet and some tart, but extremely smooth, and very well balanced. The flavor contains the nuttiness that I have detected in other Japanese whiskeys, like un-toasted peanuts, as well as grassy fresh taste. After taste us quite floral, and a medium finish. It’s a very easy to drink whiskey. Lovely.

A creamy, Japanese Pure Malt Whisky made by the Matsui Shuzo Distillery in Tottori Prefecture, Japan with 100% malted barley, though a blend of malt from Scotland & Japan; distilled with spring waters of Mount Daisen; aged for 8 years in Ex-Bourbon white oak casks. It has an aromatic birth with notes of almonds & malt; while a rich & fruity life adds notes of green apple, almond, orange zest & vanilla caramels; that led to a delicate death of medium length with notes of oak, port & sherry. Tasted very much like a typical scotch to me, which made sense when I looked at the details and saw it was a Scottish/Japanese blend. Unlike other Japanese whiskys that I’ve tried and enjoyed more. A fair bit of oak present from the bourbon barrels, and almond. Not something I would likely purchase, but not unpleasant.
Nose- under ripe pears, green apples, wheat Taste- sweet, pears, dark honey, a rich earthy taste almost I've never had in whiskey before. Bits of malt. Finish - Tastes like cut grass that's composting smells. Starts good like a decent highland scotch but the finish turns me off.
Nose: vanilla, honeyed, sweet Body: medium Palate: spice, floral, vanilla sweetness, peppery with a light malt Finish: medium Note: ok, not enough body for my liking. Also makes me wonder if all Japanese whiskey has rice in it. Like their secret sauce.
The nose is mostly wheat with some underlying fruity notes. The palette features a surprising mix of smoke and char with some supporting vanilla notes. The smoke lingers on the finish and is joined by some light spiciness.
