About this bottle

LALO Tequila is made from agave sourced from the Highlands of Jalisco, a proprietary Champagne yeast, and deep well water. The harvested agave is cooked in stone ovens before being pressed and double distilled. LALO is named after one of its co-founders, Maestro Tequilero Eduardo "Lalo" González, grandson of Don Julio González who founded his own namesake tequila brand. There are no additives or barrels used in this blanco tequila and there are no plans to release aged versions. (SRP $49.99)

⌚: Let sit for about 5 minutes. 👀: Very clear, typical of a Blanco, not much legs; 👃: Very faint earthy vegetal scent, mostly sugar cubes and a little honey; 👅: Super sweet, don't remember a Blanco tasting this good in awhile, almost tastes artificial but with this taste I'll take it; 🏁: Taste is remarkably short and of course sweet, I was told by my cousin that if you want to fully appreciate the taste of tequila that you drink it Blanco and this Lalo is one that I can truly appreciate. (NOTE: I had this drink while waiting for P-Lo to perform and had just taken a few other Kirkland Tequila Añejo shots and a couple CBD gummies which probably were THC instead, but even through all that this Lalo still outshined them all.)

Bottle G105687. Tasted neat. I can smell this tequila from 2 feet away at the table--herbatious, floral agave, citrus, and saline. On the palate, sweet roasted agave, light smoky earthy oaky, and salt. Then spicy grass and pepper, and a slight bitterness, plus citrus peel, that tamps down the sweetness. Mouthfeel is creamy and coating. Finish is dry, clean, and oily, and lingers. Really a beautiful flavor profile, made to be sipped and savored. No ethanol burn or off-notes, and easy to drink. One of my favorite tequilas so far.

I am out of my comfort zone here. I received a few Tequila samples from a friend, so why not. On the nose, agave... (sounding like a noob), this is so easy to pick up, also lime/lemon zest. The palate is a little peppery, lemon zest, easy to drink, not much alcohol burn and the finish is pleasant, with a little tart/dryness... something there that I cannot describe... still learning. I heard that people put this on ice, but at 40%, I don't want to chance it and dilute the flavor.

Lalo Tequila is a focus on the production of the worlds "best Blanco tequila. Unlike his ancestors, that preferred reposado tequila as the "best" Lalo tequila produces a vibrant and bold Blanco. Aromas of cooked agave, pepper, tangerine, wheatgrass are followed suit with strong flavors of agave and pepper. The citrus flashes linger on the finish. Mineral notes are also present, but this is a very traditional Blanco agave forward tequila that is additive free.

Phenomenal representation of a blanco. Pure, crisp and easy to sip. Lots of cooked agave of the nose and transfers to the palate. A little pepper on the back end but not overbearing. Drinking this tequila transporta you to a freshly cut agave field and the distillery where the piñas are roasted. Definitely a favorite and I use it to introduce people to true, authentic tequila as opposed to over sweetened mainstream brands.

Clean, fresh agave nose with just a hint of oak. Ultra-smooth entry with a light sweetness, mild vegetal flavor, and notes of marshmallow, vanilla cream and white pepper. The overall expression is refreshing, modern and flavorful. A wonderful sipping tequila, that will also elevate your Margarita, Tequila Sour or Ranch Water. A welcome addition to the agave shelf.
