Fruity nose, well hidden smoke. On the palate there's some cherry, prune, dr pepper, smoked meats, earth. Long finish where a little peat starts to show. Nice oily mouthfeel. This was one of the best whiskeys I'd had when I first had a pour a year or so ago, and decided to revisit it after trying a couple more aged Laphroaigs. This still holds up, might edge out the DTD22 slightly, although that one is more distinctly Laphroaig.
