About this bottle

Made by Heaven Hill, Larceny is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon which is aged 6-8 years. There is a small batch version which is bottled at 92 proof and a version which is bottled at batch proof which varies from batch to batch. This is a single barrel version of the latter. A barrel number will be listed on each bottle along with the proof. Of course, as is the nature with single barrel releases, expect there to be flavor variations among the barrels as well.

Nose: Cinnamon and peaches Palate: Spicy. A bit “thin” for my tastes. Not a ton of flavor. A more experienced taster could probably pick up on flavor profile, but not this rookie. Finish: Burns (in a good way) to the end. Overall - not my choice for a daily sipper, but I’m not a huge fan of wheat whiskeys. I think this would make an excellent mixer - will try in a Manhattan soon.

57.7%, Barrel 5652486, although it doesn't state Single Barrel. Larceny is a high wheat mash Bourbon, and even at Barrel Proof the nose is mild. A bit of heat on the finish, and lacking in flavor and complexity. I can see why this lingers on shelves. There are much better Bourbons around this proof that cost much less, and are better. This needs more aging. My score was 76

Single barrel picked for the 2018 Kentucky Bourbon Affair tasted at a bottle share. My impression was entirely favorable. Deep, rich liquid toffee. Good viscocity and low burn. Wish I could find a bottle. I'd buy it in a heartbeat

125.1 proof. 68% corn, 20% wheat, 12% malted barley. Apple pie, cinnamon, brown sugar, caramel, creamy vanilla, charred oak, toasted butter popcorn, chocolate, sour mash, shredded wheat cereal, jelly donut, molasses.

Was a bit too harsh for me. Compared to EH Taylor BP I much prefer the Taylor which had some more interesting flavors in addition to the burn. This didn’t have much flavor that kept me hooked

neat, pure ethanol; but what do you expect at 125P? Splash of water here goes a long way to bring out the complexity of this drink. On the rocks or a splash of water is a must have.
