Nose: Incredible aroma of apple cider or calvados, vanilla, conference pear and subtle baking spices. Palate: Nice full, creamy mouthfeel. Lightly stewed apples with sweet cinnamon and brown sugar. Some vanilla cream adds to the ensemble. Finish: Packs a bit of heat at first but it dampens down after the first sip. Gentle oak spice that melts away leaving a beautiful finish of apple crumble and custard. The bourbon influence on this is very prominent and delicious. It carries the typical bourbon notes but without the heavy oak. I was worried about the ABV at first but it's surprisingly light. It's easily the best whisky I've had to date.
