About this bottle

Longrow, the distillation of which is handled by Springbank, gets in on the wood experimentation series. This one spent 8 years in ex-bourbon barrels followed by two years in ex-Tokaji wine barrels. Tokaji is a sweet dessert wine from Hungary, similar to sauternes, made from grapes affected by noble rot.

Befuddling nose! Sweet but entirely funky. Winey notes for sure. Thick spiced chew on the palate. A spicy, but dark funk yet mellow finish. What a crazy whisky!
